recto bottom center: "The Battle Of Petersburg, VA April 2nd 1865./ This great and decisive Battle was fought on Sunday between the Union Heroes under Gen. Grant and the Rebel hosts under Lee; resulting in the total overthrow/ of the traitors, and the capture of both Petersburg and Richmond, with vast amounts of war material, and an estimated loss to the rebels of 15,000 killed/ and wounded, and 25,000 prisoners, while the total Union loss is placed at less than 7000.
