Lincoln Marries Mary Todd (from the Lincoln Coins & Stamps 1909-1958 Collection)
The Lincoln Marries Mary Todd coins are a part of a larger fifty-coin set, The Lincoln Coins & Stamps 1909-1958. In this subset, five Lincoln Cents are displayed in a paper card mount. The dates include 1919, 1920, 1921, 1922, and 1923. The subset also includes a February 3, 1927 commemorative stamp, which features a portrait of Lincoln that was derived from a photograph taken during his presidency (1861-1865). The paper card mount's recto also contains biographical information about Abraham Lincoln's relationship with Mary Todd as well as a black and white illustration, Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln with their Family. The biographical information continues on the card's verso along with excerpts from Carl Sandburg and Paul M. Angle's Mary Lincoln: Wife and Widow. The paper mount is encased in a plastic sleeve that is enclosed in a coin holder binder.
