On the medal's reverse, an image of Pegasus is displayed at the middle. Around the winged horse, Cushman is depicted in costume for four of her most well-known roles: Cordelia (King Lear), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Romeo (Romeo & Juliet), and Meg Merrilies (Guy Mannering).
