This is an illustration of a wood slat cabin or home that is in disrepair. Trees are pictured behind the cabin. The caption beneath the illustration reads "The Early Home of Abraham Lincoln, As it Stands, in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co. KY. His father built this cabin and moved into it when Abraham was an infant, and resided there till he was Seven Years of age when he removed to Indiana. Published by J. O. Wright and Co. New York." The illustration is within volume one of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
