Description
This is a portrait of the 12th president, Zachary Taylor in a double breasted dark uniform. Taylor is seated, angled toward the left. An illustration of soldiers on horses is beneath the portrait and "Z. Taylor" is signed beneath it. "From a Daguerreotype likeness taken soon after his return from Mexico" is captioned beneath the signature. The illustration is within volume one of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
