Frank and Virginia Williams
This black and white illustration depicts a fallen uniformed officer on top of another uniformed officer while a fellow soldier holding a sword is propping up the officer. Uniformed soldiers with swords and guns with bayonets surround them. The illustration is captioned "Attack at Chantilly...Death of Gen. Stevens" beneath the illustration with "From the original painting by Chappel in the possession of the publishers." beneath the caption. This illustration is in volume six of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
