This black and white illustration is of General George E. Pickett, a career United States Army officer who became a major general in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. Pickett is depicted as wearing a dark double-breasted military uniform with starts on the high collar. The artist is identified along the bottom edge of the illustration and his signature is depicted beneath the illustration. This illustration is from volume seven, of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
