Frank and Virginia Williams
This black and white illustration is of Hernando Wood, an American Democratic Party politician, merchant, and real estate investor who expressed political sympathies for the American South, including during the American Civil War. Wood is depicted as wearing a dark suite and tie with a white shirt. The engraver's name, G. E. Perine, is named along the bottom edge of the illustration. Wood's signature is depicted below the illustration and his name and "representative form New York" is captioned below the signature. This illustration is from volume seven, of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
