Description
This black and white illustration is of General Alexander S. Webb, a career United States Army officer and a Union general in the American Civil War who received the Medal of Honor for gallantry at the Battle of Gettysburg. Webb is depicted in a dark, double-breasted military uniform with star studded shoulder board and a black collar. Webb's name is captioned beneath the illustration. The illustration is in volume eight of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
