Description

This handwritten V-Mail (Victory Mail) letter, dated February 2, 1944, is written by Rollin S. Armstrong from where he is stationed in North Africa, to his wife, Rebecca Armstrong, in Tupelo, Mississippi. The letter discusses how long he has been overseas and shares the experience of a fellow soldier. The letter goes on to describe his interactions with other soldiers in the hospital. The location he wrote above the letter's greeting has been censored with black ink. The War and Navy Departments V-Mail Service envelope is postmarked U. S. Army, February 23, 1944.
