This postcard features a color illustration of the Great Southern Hotel in Gulfport, Mississippi. The hotel is a large, four story structure with balconies along the second floor, dormer windows long the roof, and is depicted as having green siding with a red roof. The title is printed on the edge beneath the image and an inscription is written beneath the title. The back of the card is addressed to Mr. Mack Robinson in Alabama. The card is postmarked Gulfport, Mississippi, May 4, 1908 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner of the card. An inscription is written on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]
[front inscription] Am at the parlor drugstore waiting for Clara. here she is now. Lula [back inscription, center] Dear Mack!--Recd your card yesterday and was very glad to hear from you. Why idn't you let us know when you went through G. P. and we wouod have been to the train to see you. With love Lula [along the top] you had better come to Gulfport soon. [along the bottom] I call this a letter [sic]
