This black and white picture postcard features an open cotton field. The handwritten description in the white area to the right identifies the scene as "Cotton Field near Moorehead, Mississippi." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides indication for correspondence and address placement. A green one cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and the card is postmarked for Moorhead, Mississippi, May 14, 1908. The card is inscribed and is addressed to Mrs. J. J. Palenev in Needmore, Pennsylvania.
[front of the postcard] Cotton Field Near Moorhead, Mississippi [back of the postcard] Dear Friend: This is a poor picture but will give you an idea of what a cotton field looks like if you have never seen one. This was taken in Nov. after the field had been picked over once. Got Paul's pictures he looks some like he did three years ago, also think he looks very much like Dr. Would like so much to see you. We are having very cool weather for the time of year also blessed with plenty of rain. Regards to all--Lula D. [sic]
