Description

This sepia toned picture postcard features a United States Naval ship on the open water with smoke coming from the funnel/stacks. A text box in the upper right of the card describes the ship as follows: Pennsylvania Speed 21.00 Knots, Displacement 31,000 Tons, Length 600 feet, Horsepower 29,000 Armament: 12-14 inch, 4 submerged Torpedo Tubes, supported by a Torpedo Defense Battery of 22-5 inch guns Complement: 70 officers, 1,200 Men Cost $17,500,000. The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides publisher and photographer information, as well as, indication for correspondence, address, and postage stamp placement. "Battleship Series No. 1" is in the lower left corner.
