Description

This black and white picture postcard features a naval ship on the water with the coastline in the distant background. Flags are flying from both the stern and the bow and four funnels/stacks are in the center of the ship. The back two funnels are emitting smoke. The title and description along the bottom of the card reads "No. 5035.--U. S. Torpedo Boat Destroyer "Paul Jones." 125 Officers and men. Displacement, 420 tons. Speed, 29 knots. Torpedo tubes, two 18 in., Whitehead. Two 3-in. and five 6-pounders, R. F. G." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides publisher information as well as correspondence, address, and postage stamp placement.
