This color postcard features a naval ship on the water near the coast with two pole masts on either end of the ship and two funnels/stacks. Flags fly from both the bow and the stern. The image of an eagle in the center of two crossed flags is in the upper left corner. The title in the lower left of the card reads "U. S. S. Kearsarge." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides publisher information, as well as indication for address and postage stamp placement. The image of an eagle carrying a United States flag shield is in the upper left corner.
