Description

This color postcard features a naval ship on the open water with the title " Latest U. S. Destroyer." Copyright information is in the lower left of the card. The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides publisher information as well as indication for address and postage stamp placement. The logo for the publisher is in the top center of the card. The description of the front image is on the left side of the card and reads "217736--Latest Type U. S. Destroyer. Displacement, about 883 tones; speed, over 39 knots; 12,000 H. P. Oil fuel, turbine engines, three screws. Length, 289 ft.; beam, 26 ft.; draught, 8 1/4 ft. Crew of 79 men. Carries five 3 in. guns and six 18 in. torpedo tubes."
