Description

This color postcard features a naval cruiser with four funnels/stacks in the center, all of which are emitting dark smoke. A United States flag flies from the stern and a blue flag flies from the bow. The title and description along the top of the card reads "U. S. Armored Cruiser "South Dakota." 800 officers and men. Length 502 feet. Main battery 18 guns." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard that was made in the United States and provides indication for correspondence, address, and postage stamp placement.
