Description
In this handwritten sworn statement to the District Court in Tarrant County, Texas, Leon Hays swears that he will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent as an Attorney at Law according to his abilities and the Texas and United States laws. He goes on to swear that he has never participated in any way in a duel with deadly weapon and that he has neither accepted nor offered any financial incentives for acceptance tot he Bar for which he's been admitted. The statement was sworn to and subscribed before the Tarrant County District Court Clerk, J. J. Miller on March 19, 1877.
