Description

This handwritten receipt documents nine hundred and fifty dollars transferred to the Attala County Treasurer's office by the treasurer, J. T. Riley by the Attala county, Sheriff, J. W. Woodard from the Clerk's receipts warrant number thirty-nine, dated May 2, 1885. The funds were collected as fines from October 1882 to march 1885. The Chancery Court clerk, John Riley notes at the bottom of the page that the "above is a correct copy of treasure's receipt now on file in the Chancery Clerk's Office." "Duplicate" is written sideways beside the receipt information.
