In this letter, dated May 5, 1886, H. H. Hines of the Auditor of Public Accounts with the Mississippi Auditor's office, writes to the Attala County treasurer, John Riley, to report on the corrected statement of the State Taxes for 1885 that had been submitted by R. B. Webb, the Attala County tax collector. The letter explains the corrections and asks that Riley pass the explanations on to Webb and other interested parties. The letter is written on "Office of Auditor Public Accounts" stationary.
