Description

This article is a letter written by T. A. Moore, the new pastor, and his wife to thank the members of the community and church for the "pounding" they received after having just moved into their home. Pounding is a ritual in Christianity in which a new priest or minister is given gifts by members of the congregation of that church at which he is assigned to preach. In his letter, Reverend Moore describes how the events unfolded after his wife placed a small order with the local grocer to get them by until they could get to town.
