Description

In this handwritten letter, dated February 28, 1871, Sophia Boyd Andrews Hays writes to her mother, Anna (Annie) McKee Green to tell her about how she reluctantly spends her time walking with her students to the mineral spring or the river after school dismisses. She goes on to say that she hasn't made the acquaintance of very many "old persons" since she moved to Florence and discusses her financial situation.
