Description

In this handwritten letter, dated August 16, 1901, Sophia Boyd Andrews Hays writes to her sister, Matilda Ann "Lit" Boyd Webb to apologize for the delay in writing. She explains that she is rarely idle except when she has to rest. She goes on to say she wished she could have afforded to pay for Lit to come to El Paso as she believes it would have done her sister good. She goes on to say that she has moved to a room at the Plaza Hotel in El Paso, Texas and is finding it comfortable. She goes on to ask after Lit's children and report on the family in Texas.
