Description

In this handwritten letter, dated August 2, 1904, Arthur L. Webb writes to his sister, Annie Webb Ray to tell her he hopes to be able to come to Kosciusko to visit if he'd invited and goes on to warn her about a situation with their aunt, Sophia Boyd Andrews Hays, where-in she is threatening to sue him. He states that she has no grounds to sue but that he is concerned because she is their aunt. He explains where the situation originated from and defends his part in it. He shares other news that is loosely related and ends the letter by saying he may resign from his recently elected position as lieutenant in a Yankee regiment due to the cost of the uniforms.
