In this typed letter, dated June 9, 1965, Senator John C. Stennis writes to Denise Beyt Ray to express his condolences on the loss of her husband, Robert B. Ray. He talks of his friendship with Robert from their days at Mississippi A & M (Mississippi State University). The letter is carbon copied to Margaret and Frank Buchanan with a handwritten note that reads "Am thinking of all of you. John Stennis" The letter is written on United States Senate Committee of Armed Services letterhead and a United States Senate Committee of Armed Services envelope addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Buchanan and postmarked Washington, D. C. is included.
