Description
In this handwritten letter, dated November 3, 1940, Emmett B. Ray writes to his parents, Annie Webb and Emmett L. Ray asking them to send him some quilts and a pillow to camp. He goes on to compliment the officers he's working with in Camp Beauregard, Louisiana and describes the medical ward he's in charge of. He describes his duties and explains that the troops are National Guardsman from Michigan and Wisconsin. The letter is written on Dr. Emmett Ray Physician and Surgeon letterhead stationary and an envelope postmarked Alexandria, Louisiana and bears a purple, three cent postage stamp.
