Description
In this handwritten letter, Clayton Webb writes from Texas to his sister, Annie "Nancy" Webb Ray in Kosciusko, Mississippi to tell her he won't be able to visit her until after he establishes his chicken farm. He explains to her that he's anxious to be able to work for himself and the trip would cost no less than fifty dollars and that would buy two dozen hens. He goes on to say how much he would love to see her and the rest of the family. He continues by discussing the friends he knows he can count on and how he holds his family in higher esteem than friends. The letter is written on McKinney Compress Company stationary. An envelope addressed to Mrs. Annie Ray and postmarked McKinney, Texas, January 1, 1921 is included.
