Color bookplate from unidentified volume: ""Siege of Vicksburg..."" Copyright 1888, by L. Prang, Boston. In the foreground, there are depictions of Union soldiers advancing toward a hill. There are several renderings of wooden stakes which suggest battle fortifications. In the center of the image, there is a depiction of a union solider carrying a tattered American flag over a hill. In the background, there are depictions of Confederate soldiers firing on the advancing Union troops.
