Description

The medal's obverse design depicts an African-American woman and man standing in front of a field. The woman holds a baby, and the man stands just behind her. In the background, a man is pictured on horseback looking on two workers in the field. On the reverse, Confederate and United States flags are pictured intersecting at the top of the medal. Several rifles appear behind the flags, and the image of an eagle is placed at the center of the intersection. At the medal's bottom, a decorative border lines the edge.
