Abstract
The tarnished plant bug, Lygus lineolaris (Palisot De Beauvois) (TPB), is a highly polyphagous insect that feeds on numerous wild and cultivated host plants. Previous papers have reported the survival and developmental times of immature stages of TPB and the fecundity and longevity of adults on various host plants, but the majority of these studies have used the common green bean as the food source. The life history information reported in these previous studies can be used as parameter estimates in the construction of realistic models depicting the population dynamics of this important insect pest.
