This United States Internal Revenue receipt, dated September 17, 1866, documents the two hundred and twenty dollar payment made by Mrs. John P. Darden for income in 1865. The payment was made in Fayette, Mississippi to the collector's office, first district in the state of Mississippi. The taxes collected are for the year ending in June 30, 1866. The receipt is numbered 189 and is signed by Ely R. Jones, Deputy Collector.
