Description

This black and white postcard features an early twentieth century view of buildings and street traffic in downtown Hattiesburg, Mississippi. A street clogged with early horses and carriages runs between several buildings. People can be seen walking the sidewalks and utility poles are depicted on the left side of the street. The title along the top of the card reads "Front Street Looking East from Main Street, Hattiesburg, Mississippi." The back of the postcard identfies the item as a postcard and provides publisher information as well as indication for correspondence and address placement. A green one cent stamp is placed in the upper right corner of the card and the card is postmarked Hattiesburg, Mississippi with an illegible date. The card is addressed to Miss F. D. J. George at the Gulf Coast Health Resort, Biloxi, Mississippi.
