In a series of three letters, J. P. Marshall writes to Stone. In the first he tells Stone that his son was previously enrolled in Jefferson Military College and would like to be enrolled at A and M College. In the second, he asks Stone questions regarding costs. In the third, he asks Stone to find his son and talk with him as he has received letters from him saying how discouraged he was and how he would like to come home.
