Ernie Flint - Mississippi State Extension Reports
This collection consists of nearly three hundred Extension field notes, written by Ernest “Ernie” Hilmon Flint, Jr., who worked for Mississippi State University Extension Service as an Agronomist, from 1991 until his death in January 2018. A retired Lt. Colonel with the Army National Guard, Flint received all of his degrees, including a PhD, from Mississippi State. His field notes reports were published as a column in several Mississippi newspapers, including the Delta Farm Press and the Yazoo Herald, where he was able to reach a broad audience and was known for making agricultural information interesting and accessible to his readers. This collection was donated to Mississippi State University Libraries in 2019, by Flint’s family. The notes range from 1999-2017, with the bulk from 1999-2003, and cover a wide variety of agricultural topics.
