Description
The reproduction photograph depicts a seated portrait of Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln reportedly finger-combed his hair between exposures, a look that Sir William Howard Russell called his ""thatch of wild Republican hair." The photo was originally taken on 20 May 1861 by William Marsh. [Ref: O-21.]
