Description

The medal's obverse design features a bust image of Samuel Finley Breese Morse, a contributor to the single-wire telegraph system and co-developer of Morse code. The reverse design depicts a woman holding a Pegasus-like figure in her proper right hand and a paint pallet [?] in her proper left. A cherub flies to her proper left and telegraph poles stand in the background.
