Description

The medal's obverse design depicts three Confederate soldiers standing behind a cannon that is pointed at Fort Sumter. A fourth soldier stands on a raised platform to the right looking at the battle action. On the reverse, Confederate and United States flags are pictured intersecting at the top of the medal. Several rifles appear behind the flags, and the image of an eagle is placed at the center of the intersection. At the medal's bottom, a decorative border lines the edge.
