Description
Nineteenth century print; ""Laying The Pontoons."" In the foreground, there is several soldiers carrying planks. The soldiers are depicted in the process of building large wooden walkways that enable them to reach a town on the other side of a river. The soldiers appear to be Union forces. There are several solider waving American flags. The town itself appears to be greatly damaged. In the background, there is also signs of homes burning.
