Description
At the medal's obverse, a right-side profile image of Abraham Lincoln is depicted. At the medal's reverse, two rosettes are shown above and below the Wide Awakes text and are surrounded by a leafy wreath. The medal commemorates the Lincoln marching units - the Wide Awakes - a group which participated in marches and rallies in support of Lincoln during the 1860 Presidential Election. Provenance note: Sold by Chuck Hand, Paris, Illinois. Original number: Lot 1, K-71.
