Description

The Lincoln Is Assassinated coins are a part of a larger fifty-coin set, The Lincoln Coins & Stamps 1909-1958. In this subset, five Lincoln Cents are displayed in a paper card mount. The dates include 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, and 1958. The subset also includes an August 11, 1952 commemorative stamp, which features an image of Mount Rushmore. The paper card mount's recto also contains biographical information about the Lincoln's assassination as well as a color illustration of Lincoln Is Assassinated. The biographical information continues on the card's verso along with an account of the death of Abraham Lincoln, as recalled by Gideon Welles, Lincoln's Secretary of the Navy. The paper mount is encased in a plastic sleeve that is enclosed in a coin holder binder.
