Description
Original work. The image features a woman, Anna Dickinson, kneeling before a seated minstrel, who holds a banjo in his proper right hand. Beneath the image, an excerpt from William Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream (Act III, Scene I) is written. The image appears to be painted using watercolors save for the depiction of Dickinson, which seems to have been cut from an albumen print. The image is enclosed in a white mat. The back of the mat features several inscriptions written in pencil as well as the caption typed and affixed with glue.
