Description

Engraved bust portrait of Abraham Lincoln based on a photograph from Brady's National Portrait Gallery taken by Anthony Berger on 9 February 1864. In the portrait, Lincoln is seated with his body turned slightly to his proper left. Surrounding his portrait is a decorative border designed by William Momberger that features several vignette images. This portrait was originally published in 1864, but was rereleased in 1865 to pay tribute to the martyred President.
