Description
The medal's obverse design depicts a scene from the First Battle of Bull Run. In the scene, a Union officer sits on horseback while looking on a lifeless body. A soldier stands in the foreground while other soldiers walk in the background following a covered wagon. On the reverse, Confederate and United States flags are pictured intersecting at the top of the medal. Several rifles appear behind the flags, and the image of an eagle is placed at the center of the intersection. At the medal's bottom, a decorative border lines the edge.
