Description
The medal's obverse design depicts a scene from the Second Battle of Bull Run. Eight soldiers are shown in the foreground waving rifles, swords, and a flag. Soldiers also fight and smoke rises in the background. On the reverse, Confederate and United States flags are pictured intersecting at the top of the medal. Several rifles appear behind the flags, and the image of an eagle is placed at the center of the intersection. At the medal's bottom, a decorative border lines the edge.
