Description
The medal's obverse design depicts the left-side profile of Thomas Paine, a United States Founding Father and author of two American Revolution-era pamphlets: Common Sense and The American Crisis. A bird carrying an olive branch is also pictured as well as a fleur de lis and crown. On the reverse, Paine is shown standing looking over his proper left shoulder. Two figures stand to his proper right and four others are pictured to his proper left.
