Description
This handwritten letter, dated March 8, 1848, is from Henry Clay to The Right Reverend Bishop John Hughes and was found between, pages 274-275. The letter asks the bishop to visit with Clay at his lodging. This note was found tipped into volume one of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
