Description
This is a black and white illustration of Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln is depicted as wearing a dark suit, vest and tie with a white shirt while leaning against a table with his left arm resting on a book and his right hand is holding a sheaf of papers near his chest. "Entered according to act of Congress [?] by Johnson, Fry and Co. in the clerks office of the district courts of the southern district of N. Y." is along the edge of the illustration. Lincoln's signature is depicted beneath the illustration with the information "From the original painting by Chappel in the possession of the publishers" beneath the signature. This illustration is from volume four of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
