Description

This is a black and white illustration of George Archibald McCall, a United States Army officer who became a brigadier general and prisoner of war during the American Civil War. McCall is depicted as wearing a dark, double-breasted military uniform with shoulder boars and a white collar; his right hand is depicted as tucked inside his coat pocket. The photographer and engraver are identified along the bottom edges of the illustration. McCall's signature is depicted below the illustration with the caption "Brig. Gen. McCall" beneath the signature. This illustration is from volume five of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
