This is a black and white illustration of Sterling Price, a United States General and senior officer of the Confederate States Army who fought in both the Western and Trans-Mississippi theaters of the American Civil War. Price is depicted as wearing a dark, double-breasted military uniform with a high collar that's lined with stars. Price's signature is depicted beneath the illustration. This illustration is from volume five of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
