Description

This black and white illustration is of General James B. Fry, an American soldier who served as chief of staff to Brigadier General Irvin McDowell at the First Battle of Bull Run. Fry is depicted as wearing a dark, double-breasted Union uniform with a high collar and shoulder boards. Fry's name is captioned beneath the illustration. This illustration is from volume seven, of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
